Lauren Alexandra Haley is a violinist, speaker, and pedagogy expert based in the Seattle Eastside. A Violin Performance graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Haley is the author of Kids Aren’t Lazy: Developing Motivation & Talent Through Music (2018). In addition to leading Lauren Haley Studios, Haley is a frequent collaborator with performers, teachers, and administrators across the country. Haley’s articles have been featured in publications in the US and abroad, and radio appearances include interviews on 88.7FM KUHF Houston, 101.1FM WRR Dallas, and 105.9 WXXI Rochester.
Accepted into both the Violin and Viola Performance programs at Eastman, Haley studied with Oleh Krysa, Zvi Zeitlin, and Phillip Ying. Ms. Haley has performed and recorded professionally at venues including Angel Recording Studios, Menuhin Hall, and Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Established in 2013, Lauren Haley Studios (LHS) aims to inspire a lifelong affinity for music in students and families, to demonstrate advanced repertoire and technique, to encourage students to persevere through musical and academic challenges, and to support the achievement of students’ highest musical goals. Ms. Haley is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the Texas Music Educators Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and the Suzuki Association of Washington State. Ms. Haley is an annual guest lecturer in String Pedagogy and Arts Leadership courses at the Eastman School of Music.
